More deputies on metro Atlanta campus after potential threat

LOGANVILLE, Ga. — There will be extra deputies at Loganville Middle School Thursday morning after a social media post containing a potential threat was reported.

The Walton County Sheriff’s Office said out of an abundance of caution, deputies will be on campus to provide additional security and to support school administrators.

Details on the threat have not been released.

If students see or hear anything concerning, they should report it immediately to a trusted adult or utilize the Walton County School District’s Safe Campus Rewards Program, according to the sheriff’s office.
