SCREVEN COUNTY, Ga. — Deputies in a Georgia county will take a zero-tolerance approach to speeding and will issue citations without warnings until further notice.

The Screven County Sheriff’s Office announced the change and said Sheriff Norman Royal directed deputies to take the step after four lives were lost on county roads in the past 30 days.
The sheriff’s office said the policy applies to everyone.
“It does not matter who you are, who you know or where you are going,” Sheriff Royal said.
The sheriff’s office urged drivers to slow down, put the phone away, wear a seat belt and pay attention to the road.
Deputies will keep issuing citations for speeding with no warnings until further notice, according to the sheriff’s office.
