Missing 6-year-old Coweta County boy reunited with mother

COWETA COUNTY, Ga. — It was a scary morning for one family after a 6-year-old boy became lost for hours in Coweta County Thursday.

According to the Coweta County Sheriff's Office, the boy was last seen by his family around 2 a.m. in the Aspen Wood Lake subdivision. The child was wearing pajamas and no shoes.

It wasn't until after 8 a.m. when someone found the boy a short distance away from his home.

Officials said the boy was scared but thrilled to be reunited with his family.

His mother told Channel 2's Liz Artz the family just moved to the area a few days ago and believe the boy got out and got turned around and was lost.

The boy was taken to the hospital to be checked out but was otherwise fine.
