Mercedes-Benz USA president named CEO of AMB Group

The president and CEO of Mercedes-Benz USA has been named the new CEO of Arthur Blank’s AMB Group.
Stephen Cannon will take on the day-to-day leadership of the company’s for profit businesses starting Feb. 1, 2016.
“Steve is a dynamic leader with a value system and ethic that aligns very well with mine, which is important to ensuring our culture and values continue to thrive in a fast-paced, growing environment,” Blank said. “He is a proven, results-driven executive who understands how to build and deliver a premium customer experience.”
According to AMB Group, Cannon will lead all business operations of the Atlanta Falcons, Atlanta United, Atlanta Falcons Stadium Company, the developer of Mercedes-Benz Stadium, PGA Superstore and Mountain Sky Guest Ranch.
Blank says Cannon’s hiring fulfills his desire to step back from day-to-day operations of his business.
“While I will always be heavily involved in our business strategies, I now feel that the best role I can play in our business is one of founder, chairman and most senior cheerleader,” he said. “I have a strong desire to spend more quality time with my family, as well as to concentrate more of my time on our philanthropic endeavors, and Steve’s hiring will allow me to do those things.”
Cannon has served as president and CEO of Mercedes-Benz USA since 2012.
“This is a truly special opportunity for me to move from an iconic brand that I love to a role working with an iconic leader and the diversified Blank family of businesses,” Cannon said.
