• Man shot dead after bar dispute

    NEWNAN, Ga. - Police say an altercation at a Newnan bar has left one man dead and another in jail.

    James Christopher Johnson, III died from a single gunshot wound to the chest. 

    Police said Adam Lee Edmonson, of Hogansville, is accused of shooting the 25-year-old at the Corner Tavern on Saturday night.

    Police said the incident stemmed from an argument between the two about Johnson’s girlfriend.

    Edmonson, 26, is being held on a murder charge at Coweta County jail.
