Stockbridge residents looking for answers after rash of car break-ins

STOCKBRIDGE, Ga — It’s the feeling of security, dozens of Stockbridge residents say was taken from them earlier this week.

“I really do not feel safe,” said Jameel Muhammad.

In the early hours of Sunday and Monday, Stockbridge police say thieves broke into dozens of cars across three neighborhoods.

Those neighborhoods are the Assembly at Eagles Landing, Parkside at Eagles Landing, and Summer Hill Communities.

“To them it didn’t matter how many windows they broke,” Muhammad said.

Jameel Muhammad said two of his windows were broken into.

Stockbridge Police issued surveillance images of the suspect’s car. They’re asking the public to be on the lookout for a 2015 silver Kia Optima. Police said video appears to show four suspects in the car.

Nick Harden with Low Price Auto Glass, in Conley, says when he arrived to work on Sunday morning there was a line of Stockbridge car owners needing repairs.

“I have glass for days,” Harden said.

Management says because they’ve seen an increase in the amount of car break-in repairs, they’ve been keeping extra glass on stock to keep up with the demand.

“We’ve been ordering more glass than ever before,” he said.

Anyone with information related to these break ins, is asked to contact Detective C. Boggs by calling Stockbridge Police at (678) 833-3334.
