Gwinnett Chamber offers discount card to promote local businesses

GWINNETT COUNTY, Ga. — The Gwinnett County Chamber of Commerce hopes a new discount card will encourage residents to shop locally.

The new Shop Gwinnett card offers discounts at locally owned stores and restaurants across the county.

Nancy McGill, owner of Cartridge World in Lawrenceville, said she hopes the card will be a boost to local businesses that have struggled in recent years.

"Right now, there's so many other ways you can buy, and a lot of our business is going outside of the area," McGill said.

County schools and charities will sell the card for $20, and half of that will benefit the schools.

Businesses looking to enroll in the program should contact the Gwinnett Chamber at 770-232-3000 and ask to speak with an account representative.  Residents can also order the card at www.ShopinGwinnett.com and support the nonprofit partner of their choice.
