GWINNETT COUNTY, Ga — The situation was contained to the one classroom.
A total of 11 students were assessed by the fire department and was released to go back to class.
There were a total of 28 students inside the classroom and all went back to their normal schedules.
The rest of the students at the school were unaffected.
Gwinnett County Public Schools spokeswoman Sloan Roach said two students were charged in connection with the incident.
“Once the investigation was completed, we had two students who were charged criminally with possession of a weapon and disruption of a school,” Roach said in an email. “They also will face disciplinary action.”
The students’ names were not immediately available, nor were further details about the incident.
