GWINNETT COUNTY, Ga. — Police say a man was shot and killed at a Gwinnett home during a gathering after a funeral.
The shooting happened on Kachina Trail in Dacula. Police said the victim, 35-year-old Jesse Towler, was found shot in the chest outside the home by friends and family.
Police identified the shooter as the homeowner, Joey Perry, 32.
Police said a fight broke out outside the home as a group of people gathered at Perry’s home after a funeral earlier in the day. Perry tried to break up the fight by firing a single shot. The bullet hit Towler, who died at the hospital.
Perry was arrested and charged with reckless conduct and involuntary manslaughter.
