2 suspects paint racist graffiti on dumpster in Gwinnett

BUFORD, Ga. — Gwinnett police are looking for two suspects who were seen on video spray-painting racist language and hate speech on a dumpster in downtown Buford earlier this week.

Just after midnight on Tuesday, the two suspects were seen walking on East Main Street, when they approached a dumpster and spray-painted racist language and hate speech on the doors of a dumpster.

Channel 2′s Tyisha Fernandes was in downtown Buford on Thursday for Channel 2 Action News At 4:00 p.m. where she spoke with local workers.

Damien Levelo said that once his shift started at a deli on nearby Main Street, someone told him about the two suspects who had spray painted hate speech on city property.

“I understand that people want to vent and everything like that. Then write a sign in your own house and don’t bring it to us. Do us all a favor,” Levelo said.

Lavelo told Channel 2 Action News that there’s not a whole of graffiti in the area, especially hate speech.

“There’s absolutely no reason to do it. You say what you wanna say inside your own mind and go from there,” Lavelo said.

Officers said the graffiti was seen by early morning traffic.

The suspects left in the direction of train tracks behind the dumpster.
