FLOYD COUNTY, Ga. — According to Georgia State Patrol, a woman was hit while walking across a parking lot by an off-duty Floyd County Sheriff’s Office employee.
GSP said Rose Shippey was walking across the RaceTrac gas station parking lot at the intersection of Martha Berry Highway and the Armuchee Bypass at the time of the crash.

Authorities said that Shippey was hit by a 2006 Dodge 2500 pickup truck that belonged to the off-duty deputy.
GSP said the vehicle the deputy hit her with was a personal vehicle.

Shippey’s condition is unknown.
There is no information regarding if speed or alcohol were a factor in the crash.
