ROME, Ga. — A Georgia college system eased operations and evacuated several campuses Tuesday after a threat was made toward the campus.

Officials with Georgia Highlands College said they shut down for the day to allow officers to investigate a “threat specific to GHC sites.”
Officers have since cleared the campus and will allow students to go back to class Wednesday.

The college’s main campus is in Rome, but officials initially announced the Marietta campus was being shut down before extending the closure to the other campuses.
The college also has campuses in Floyd, Cartersville and Paulding County.
Marietta police said officers swept that campus but didn’t find anything suspicious.
Officials with Kennesaw State University said their campus also received threats Tuesday but the campus was cleared.

The source of threat is still under investigation.
