Georgia DNR searching for person who shot bald eagle

POLK COUNTY, Ga. — Rangers from the Georgia Department of Natural Resources are  asking for help in finding who ever shot a bald eagle.

The bird was found lying in a field in Polk County on Wednesday by Ranger First Class Daniel Gray.

The Bald Eagle is protected by the Bald and Golden Eagle Protection Act. It is illegal to pursue, shoot, shoot at, poison, wound, kill, capture, trap, collect, molest or disturb the birds.
