Frank, Wanda announce departure from V-103

ATLANTA — Morning radio personalities Frank Ski and Wanda Smith announced Thursday morning that they are leaving their popular show next week.

Frank and Wanda have hosted V-103's Morning Drive for 14 years. Frank told Channel 2's Dave Huddleston it is time for him to move on.

The duo said their last show will be next Thursday.

Frank said V-103 wanted to keep their show local and Atlanta-driven, but he wants to do something on a national level. Wanda said her contract was not up, but after 14 years, it is time for her to branch out and do something different.

"I think when you do it for 13, 14 years, you're on top, it's kind of life autopilot. We know exactly what to do, exactly how to do it," Frank said.

"It's bitter sweet, happy and sad at the same time. But I think I'm ready to experience another part of life, to do things I love to do. Comedy is my first love," Wanda said.

Both said they are going to take some time off and enjoy their families and vacation. Neither one has anything specific lined up for the future, but they said they remain optimistic.

The pair said they are leaving on good terms with management.
