DOUGLAS COUNTY, Ga. — A man has been charged in the death of a 2-year-old boy in Douglas County.
The Douglasville Police Department responded to the Millwood Park Apartments on Tuesday in reference to a suspicious death of a young child.
The toddler’s father, Courtney Craig, 23, has been charged with cruelty to children and felony murder in the death.

Family members identified the child as King Davis. They said King was in Georgia from Louisiana to visit his father.
The child’s family said it just wants answers.
“We’re not holding any grudges. We want closure. We want to know what happened to King,” grandmother Spanky Davis said.
King's family believes other people may have been involved in his death.
Family members held a vigil and balloon release to honor young King.

"He was not your average 2-year-old. True. Smart, intelligent, happy, friendly," Davis told Channel 2’s Rikki Klaus.
"He completed us," said grandfather Guy Henderson.
King’s mother was too torn up to talk about her only child.
"She hadn't talked in days. This was her first time speaking out today. And the only thing she had to say was, 'Why?'" Davis said. "She's lost. We all are lost because we don't know anything."
"There were multiple people there. Somebody knows what happened. He was a 2-year-old baby. Somebody knows what happened and they're hiding it," aunt Giana Davis said.
The cause of King’s death is still unknown. Police said an autopsy is being performed to determine a cause.
“The GBI (Georgia Bureau of Investigation) crime lab has not given us an exact cause of death because they have to run a lot more tests,” Capt. Bruce Ferguson said.
Craig’s friends said he was a great father.
“I know for a fact that Courtney did not do harm to this child. I know he didn’t,” Jafari Molyneaux said.
Craig is being held without bail at the Douglas County Adult Detention Center.
The family has set up a
to help cover funeral expenses.
