ATLANTA — We know you’ve been enjoying the cool temperatures with your long sleeves and boots but don’t fall for it.

It’s Mother Nature’s trick and the Hall County Sheriff’s Office wants to warn people.

We have all been victims of this horrible weather scam around mid to late September, or what Georgians like to call “false fall.”

The temperatures start to drop, then suddenly it’s back to highs in the 90s.

The Hall County Sheriff’s Office jokingly called false fall a scam and made a list of Georgia’s 12 seasons and right now we are experiencing ‘false fall’.

We try to warn you when scams are spreading across Hall County and it looks like Mother Nature is responsible for perpetrating the latest,” said HCSO in a Facebook post.

Forsyth County Sheriff’s Office also got in on the fun with their own scam warning.

Severe Weather Team 2 Meteorologist Brian Monahan said on Friday that temperatures will be returning to the 90s next week.

According to HCSO’s list, that’s our ‘second summer’ and they said not to break out the coats and jackets yet.

“It’s only September 14, so we are highly suspicious we’ll have at least one more heat wave in 2022. Don’t break out the parkas just yet,” said HSCO.

Perhaps after the ‘second summer,’ Georgia will enter and stay in actual fall, which begins September 22.
