DEKALB COUNTY, Ga. — Georgia State Patrol told Channel 2 Action News a suspect is in custody after attempting to flee during a traffic stop in DeKalb County.

Officials said troopers were patrolling near Klondike Road in DeKalb County searching for a car connected to multiple robberies. While patrolling the area, troopers were able to located the suspect car and pulled the car over for a traffic stop.
During the traffic stop, troopers had all four occupants to exit the car. After exiting the car, three of the four were taken into custody when the fourth person re-entered the car and fled the scene, officials told Channel 2 Action News.
The suspect fled the scene in the car for several miles before hitting another car, then a power pole. The suspect was taken into custody at the Rockbridge Road and North Deshon Road intersection.

Two people who were in the car that was hit were injured and transported to the hospital.
Two of the suspects in custody have been transported to Fayette County Sheriff’s Office for the robbery investigations. It is unclear what charges the driver will face.
