DEKALB COUNTY, Ga. — DeKalb County police are investigating the shooting death of a local taxi cab driver.
It happened Saturday at the intersection of Woodacres Road and Warwick Circle in Chamblee.
Investigators say a suspect was arrested close to where the shooting occurred.
Police have not released the name of the driver, a woman in her 40s. Officers say she was shot once in the head, likely during an armed robbery.
Fellow drivers said she was a nice person and hard worker. The drivers now say they fear being targeted.
"It's getting bad," driver Juan Saldarriaga said. "It's to the point where drivers are getting carry permits and arming themselves because a lot of the times there's no response from police in time."
