DEKALB COUNTY, Ga. — Crews battled a fire that broke out at a popular restaurant off Buford Highway Wednesday morning.
Channel 2′s Kristen Holloway arrived at Las Delicias de La Abuela as firefighters worked to put out the blaze. Smoke can still be seen coming from the building.
Firefighters told Holloway they received a call around 3:30 a.m. Wednesday.
Three employees were inside preparing the restaurant to open when they stepped outside and saw smoke coming from the front of the building.

The employees evacuated and made it out safely. Firefighters said most of the fire was contained to inside the restaurant.
“Of course, there will be some smoke damage and water damage from us having to put out the fire but for the most part, the restaurant shouldn’t be closed for too long," said Capt. Deion Bentley.
