NEWNAN, Ga. — A Newnan woman is being charged with the death of a woman police say she hit with her car before driving away.
Police were called to the area of Sewell Road just after 6:45 p.m. on Wednesday to a report of a bicycle on the side of the road and a possible person down.
When officers arrived, they found a woman, later identified as 53-year-old Mary Blankenship, dead. Investigators determined she had been hit by a car that had left the scene.
