CLAYTON COUNTY, Ga. — A SWAT team evacuated the Costco on Mt. Zion Road and searched for an armed robbery suspect on Monday morning.
Authorities said the suspect arrived at the Costco in a Mercedes reported stolen out of Maryland. They believe it is the same car used in at least two armed robberies in Morrow.
The entire store was evacuated and employees and customers were forced out of the building.
“After an exhaustive search we can assure the public that the store is clear,” Morrow police Capt. James Callaway said.
Police say the suspected robber is a male, but he may be traveling with two women.
According to police the male suspect is a clean-shaven Hispanic man wearing a quarter-length striped shirt and gym pants with a tattoo on his leg.
“These are two heavy-set females that were in the stolen vehicle that was involved with the armed robberies this morning. We have confirmed they did leave the store. We are not sure where the male subject went,” Callaway said.
Police are still looking for the suspect and the women.
