  • There are now 2,683 confirmed coronavirus cases and 83 deaths in Georgia. The Georgia Department of Public Health said a total of 678 people have been hospitalized during the state’s outbreak.
  • President Trump has extended the federal social distancing guidelines until April 30 as scientists warn that the virus continues to spread.
  • President Trump has approved a major disaster declaration for Georgia. The declaration means that federal emergency aid has been made available for the state of Georgia to supplement the state and local recovery efforts in areas affected by the coronavirus.
  • Trash collectors with the City of Atlanta will now only collect trash that is wrapped tightly in a bag and is inside a trash bin.
  • Kroger has announced special pharmacy hours for seniors and at-risk groups starting Monday at 8 a.m. They will also install plexiglass shields to protect workers.
  • Churches offered ways for their parishioners to worship online.
  • People are reminded not to visit the north Georgia mountains during this time.
  • Gov. Kemp announced that the Department of Natural Resources will be policing social distancing at parks and lakes to keep people from congregating.
  • People are reminded not to use the Beltline for recreation.
  • Emory University has joined a nationwide vaccine trial.
  • The State Board of Education has passed a series of waivers it hopes will give local school districts flexibility to continue on through the end of the year .
