One woman told Channel 2’s Carol Sbarge she was about to pick up an order she placed at the restaurant when a customer leaving informed her about the inspection.

“I didn’t know her. She just told me that they got a low rating and to be careful, so I decided to come home and have my salad,” customer Kay Lawrence told Sbarge.

During the April 1 inspection, the inspector found 13 violations that led to the low score of 46.

Violations included numerous clean pans and trays with old food debris, mold-like substance inside ice bins in the main kitchen and bar and cold food not held cold enough.

While the inspection was considered unsatisfactory, the two inspections done last year at the Chili’s location score a B.

When Sbarge went to the Chili’s to ask about the violations, she was told to contact corporate media relations. She is still waiting for a response.

As for Lawrence, she says she is taking no chances and walked away from her order.

“Food poisoning is my biggest concern,” Lawrence told Sbarge.

The Chili’s was re-inspected Thursday and received a 94.
