MARIETTA, Ga. — Two police officers and another man are being praised for their swift actions that helped save a woman who was having a mental crisis at a Marietta motel.

The Marietta Police Department released body cam video of the incident from Sept. 13 on their Facebook page.

Investigators were called out to Motel 6 along Delk Road after getting calls of a woman who was trying to jump from the fifth floor of the motel.

As the officers walked up the stairwell to the fifth floor, they kept yelling instructions to the woman, but it was clear she was not listening.

Once they got the woman, they quickly grabbed her.

“Officer Hines and Recruit Abkemeier made their way to the woman as quickly as possible, and while her head was turned away from them, they both swiftly grabbed her upper torso.  As soon as the woman noticed someone grabbed her, she dropped the weight of her body from her feet which then fell below the lip of the ledge,” police said in the Facebook post.

Investigator said a bystander that they identified as Mr. Bush jumped in to help when he saw the woman drop.
