MARIETTA, Ga. — Marietta police say they are searching for a suspect following an armed robbery at Mexican restaurant.
Police say an armed intruder pointed a gun at a waiter and demanded money at the El Ranchero Mexican Restaurant on Cobb Pkwy. SE before running from the scene with an undisclosed amount of money.
Because investigators are not sure where the suspect ran off to, both Kennesaw State University and Life University were made aware of their search.
This prompted Kennesaw State University Emergency Management to issue an alert to students and staff warning everyone to seek shelter and remain there until further notice. That lockdown has since been lifted, according to police.

Channel 2 Action News has reached out to representatives at Life University to see what measures they are taking.
Police say the gun the suspect used in the armed robbery was never fired, but is still in his possession.
There is no information on potential suspects.
