The best clue so far comes from a license plate reader that picked up his car.

Police say Roberts was traveling in a white 2010 Mazda CX-9 with a Georgia tag of BNE 2112. The SUV set off an alert on a license plate reader camera in Senoia, Georgia on Monday at 2:46 p.m., according to police.

But where he went next and his current location is a big mystery.

“There’s been an active search since about 9:30 Monday night. When I got the call I went down there myself and we rode the area till three, four in the morning,” said Georgia Department of Juvenile Justice Commissioner Tyrone Oliver.

Capt. Teri Farrow says a Department of Juvenile Justice special management response team normally specializes in finding juveniles who have absconded from custody.

Since Monday, the authorities have searched exhaustively for Roberts.

“Right now we don’t know what his whereabouts are,” Oliver said. “What we do know is that he didn’t log in to any of his work devices and he hadn’t clocked in on Monday.”

The commissioner says he’s asking residents along that road to check their security cameras for footage recorded between 2:45 p.m. and 3 p.m. Monday. He requests them to call the police if they see Roberts’ SUV on their recordings.

“It’s a total mystery right now. We don’t have any reason to suspect foul play,” Oliver said.

Cobb County police Sgt. Wayne Delk also said there’s no reason to suspect foul play based on the information available. He said authorities are concerned about the possibility of a medical problem.

Delk said the Cobb County Police Department is leading the investigation since Roberts resides in Cobb County.

A missing person’s alert says, “per his wife, Victor suffers from occasional memory loss, but he is not formally diagnosed.”

“The wife indicated he suffers from some slight memory loss which has just recently started,” Oliver said.

A DJJ official says the department has been joined in search efforts by Cobb County police, Senoia police, the GBI and Coweta County Sheriff’s Office.

Anyone with information on the whereabouts of Roberts or the vehicle is asked to contact the Cobb County Police Tip Hotline at 770-499-4111.
