CHEROKEE COUNTY, Ga. — A Cherokee County neighborhood was evacuated for several hours Friday morning after an accident involving a propane truck.
The Cherokee County Sheriff’s Office said the accident happened on Hickory Flat Highway at Avery Road. They shut down Hickory Flat Highway from Univeter Road and Scott Road until they could get the truck upright.
Deputies said the road could was closed for roughly four hours. The sheriff’s office did not say how many homes were evacuated during that time.

Channel 2 Action News got the all clear and roads open notification from the Sheriff’s Office just after 1:30 p.m.
