ATLANTA — New findings from Atlanta Fire and Rescue Department indicates that the Buckhead Saloon fire was an accident.
On Thursday, AFRD investigations revealed information stating that after hours of analysis from multiple resources the fire was ruled accidental and the case has been closed.

“After systematic analysis, digital photographs, witness statements, and video footage from inside the establishment beginning at 12:25 am, when patrons were still in the business, to 7:05 am, during the first sign of flames, Fire Investigators could not obtain physical evidence to determine the exact ignition source. The information gathered did not suggest the fire was malicious but accidental. The case is closed,” read the statement.
On Oct. 3, 2022, Atlanta fire crews responded to a fire that erupted at the popular Buckhead restaurant that morning.
AFRD said they were called out to the Buckhead Saloon four times from the initial response time to put out fires in small areas of debris.
Fire crews responded to the business for a second time to extinguish smoldering debris. At 2:14 am, AFRD was dispatched to Buckhead Saloon for a third time to extinguish a small area of smoldering debris.

On Tuesday, Oct. 04, at 1:15 pm, AFRD was requested back to Buckhead Saloon by Fire Investigators to extinguish hot spots.
As a result of the flames, the roof collapsed and the fire caused extensive damage to the business.
AFRD said the information gathered did not suggest that the fire was malicious and the case has been closed.
