Brother of 17-year-old killed in Georgia mall shooting charged with murder

BIBB COUNTY, Ga. — Authorities have charged a 19-year-old man with murder in connection to the shooting death of his 17-year-old brother in August at a Macon mall.

The shooting happened on Aug. 1 at the Macon Mall on Eisenhower Parkway when two people got into a fight. One of the two were shot. The victim, identified as 17-year-old Quentavious Moore of Macon, was taken to the hospital where he later died.

After months of investigating, the Bibb County Sheriff’s Office and District Attorney Anita Howard on Tuesday charged Moore’s brother, Kowasis Quentrell Moore, with murder in the shooting.

The people involved were reported to be fighting as they were trying to retrieve a stolen firearm..

Moore was taken to the Bibb County Law Enforcement Center for the charges of felony murder and armed robbery. Moore is currently being held without bond.

Authorities said that additional arrests are pending.
