Body discovered in Lake Hartwell in area where authorities searched for drowning victim

(WYFF)

HART COUNTY, Ga. — The Hart County Sheriff’s Office announced that after more than a month of searching after a man was reported missing, remains were found in Lake Hartwell.

Back in June, Channel 2 Action News reported when a, yet-unidentified, man was reported missing on June 20 at Lake Hartwell.

The Hart County Sheriff’s Office has not yet said if the remains found belong to the man reported missing earlier this summer.

In June, the Hart County Sheriff’s Office and Georgia Department of Natural Resources were searching the lake near the Mega Ramp after receiving a 911 call about a possible drowning that evening.
