Dad hopes billboard will draw leads in daughter's murder

GWINNETT COUNTY, Ga. — The father of a 24-year-old Gwinnett County woman murdered outside of her job hopes a new billboard will help police catch the killer.

"It's constantly on our mind," the victim's father, Dan Marlowe, said.

Five months after Monique Marlowe was killed outside a Hertz Rental Car near Gwinnett Place Mall, police are still looking for the gunman. She was working at the business when she was shot once, police said.

A billboard posted at Pleasant Hill Road and Interstate 85 publicizes a $25,000 reward for tips in the case. The billboard will hover above Pleasant Hill Road in Duluth for the next two months.

"Every lead we've had so far has really not gotten us any closer to a suspect," said Gwinnett police Cpl. Jake Smith.

Police said it's rare an investigation turns up so little, and they need help.

Dan Marlowe said he is not sure if his daughter was wearing her favorite necklace when she died, but his family has not been able to find it. He said its whereabouts could lead to the victim's killer.

Anyone with information is asked to contact Gwinnett County police at 770-513-5300.
