COBB COUNTY, Ga. — One of the oldest Barnes & Noble locations in metro Atlanta will say goodbye to customers on Wednesday.
Barnes & Noble Cumberland, which is located off Cobb Pkwy near the Cumberland Mall, is closing because its lease is expiring. The store confirmed back in June that its final day would be Aug. 19.
“We have loved being a part of your community for the last 30 years and will miss being here,” B&N Cumberland said.

After the closing was announced, hundreds of customers flooded the store for days. Lines wrapped around the building and snaked into the parking lot.
The store is offering a 5-for-$25 book sale for its final day.
Barnes & Noble says it is looking for suitable new store in the neighborhood. The chain recently opened a new store in Edgewood neighborhood after the previous location that closed in 2022. It also plans to open a Toco Hills location later this year.
