ATLANTA — Gas prices in Georgia jumped by 15 cents on average compared to a week ago.

As of Monday, Georgia drivers are now paying an average price of $3.37 per gallon for regular unleaded gasoline.

Monday’s state average is 13 cents more than a month ago and 41 cents less than a year ago at this time. It now costs $50.55 to fill a 15-gallon tank of regular gasoline, which is $6 less than a year ago.

Since last Monday, the national average for a gallon of regular gasoline has increased by 10 cents to $3.60.

AAA said increased oil demand coupled with a tighter supply has pushed gas prices up.
