Shocking video shows slider thief steal car from car wash in broad daylight

EAST POINT, Ga. — A Channel 2 Action News viewer shared shocking video footage of a slider thief stealing her car at a car wash in broad daylight.

Tara Jones said the incident happened June 4 at Jay’s Car Wash on Washington Road.

Jones said she was walking to her car when a young man snuck into the car wash bay, jumped in the car and drove off.

A series of videos shows the thief, who is dressed in all black, get out of another car and then slink beside Jones’ car as a man hoses off the front of it.

The person washing the car sprays the thief with a hose and tries to yank the door open, but the thief manages to get away.

Jones said she just moved to Atlanta from Alabama and is a retired Army veteran.
