Police searching for man accused of raping woman after pushing her into vacant apartment

ATLANTA — Atlanta police need your help identifying a man accused of raping a woman in broad daylight in midtown Atlanta.

Officials said the victim was getting into her car Sunday morning to go do volunteer work when the suspect reportedly snatched her and dragged her into a vacant apartment and raped her.

Atlanta police released very clear video and pictures of the suspect leaving the complex. He’s seen walking away from an apartment on Juniper Street in midtown after the rape happened.

The suspect is dressed in a white tank top with a towel on his head, board shorts, and white Nike slides.

Officials think the man cased out the complex beforehand and found an unlocked apartment that was under construction.

Police say they can’t find this man alone and they need your help.

“It’s disturbing, it’s disgusting and it’s evil. We’re going to do everything we can to get this individual off the street, but we’re asking for the public’s help to help get him identified,” Lt. Jeff Baxter told Channel 2′s Lauren Davis.

Police aren’t releasing the name of the apartment complex for the victim’s privacy, but they have notified all residents. Crimes Stoppers is offering a $2,000 reward for information leading to an arrest.
