ATLANTA — Norman Thomas III says his dad can give quite the guided tour. “How they were in this dorm, ... how they used to be at this building from time to time — it was amazing. I got to experience that and walk the campus with the other two generations before me,” Norman Thomas III said. “Grandpa was there, too.”

“Three Normans: Norman Thomas Sr., Jr. and the third to go to this school,” Norman Thomas Jr. said. In Norman Thomas Sr.’s time, Dr. King walked the campus. “I was listening to him talk about people who were just bigger than life,” Norman Thomas Jr. said.

Norman Thomas Sr. graduated in 1965, Norman Thomas Jr. graduated in 1996, and Norman Thomas III will graduate in 2026. The family is already thinking about the Class of 2055. “I’ll try to continue and make a fourth generation of Morehouse men. My dad, he didn’t make me, but he put a bug in my ear about Morehouse. I’ll definitely do that with my son,” Norman Thomas III said.
