ATLANTA — Two Georgia law enforcement officers were recently honored by Gov. Brian Kemp for their acts of heroism.
On Nov. 22, 2023, while on patrol in Glynn County, the two officers came across a pickup truck lodged under a dump truck on GA Highway 25.
When they arrived, the dump truck was on fire.

Without hesitation, Sgt. Brooks and Game Warden Tsiklistas rushed to the truck.
The pair pulled the severely injured driver to safety.
They used a fire extinguisher to try and control the fire, all while ammunition and guns inside the truck began to explode.
Fortunately, both officers and the driver made it to safety and firefighters were able to extinguish the fire.
