Five Guys serves up perfect health inspection score

Burgers, fries and a perfect health score.
That's what general manager Peter Damian has been serving since he started at this Alpharetta Five Guys restaurant five years ago. He said the north Fulton County location has gotten more than 12 inspections with a score of 100.

NORTH FULTON COUNTY, Ga. — Damian told Channel 2's Carol Sbarge that the workers at Five Guys on Windward Parkway make sure every time they change a task, they wash their hands and put on new gloves.

Five Guys is a chain and franchise restaurant. District manager Anderson Hewitt says food safety is a top priority. They hire a third party company to inspect the restaurant every quarter. Anderson said they call it a health inspection on steroids.

Five Guys also uses online training and each new hire works one on one with a manager to learn food safety steps. The company considers anything below a 97 unacceptable. Workers are told to check food temperatures every two hours. Hewitt said it all adds up to top scores and positive feedback on inspections.
