ATLANTA — The Atlanta Falcons are bringing back their red helmets for their throwback uniforms for three different home games this season.
The Falcons announced on Thursday night the team will bring back the red helmets for the second year in a row.
Last season, the Falcons wore the red helmet with their throwback black uniform with red helmets in the team’s 28-14 victory over the San Francisco 49ers.

This year, the team will wear them in three different home games.
Atlanta will debut them on Sep. 17 at home against the Green Bay Packers, on Oct. 15 against the Washington Commanders, and then against the division rival New Orleans Saints on Nov. 26.
The Falcons brought back the combination in 2009 and wore the uniform twice each season until 2013 when NFL rules prohibited teams from wearing more than one helmet.
