ATLANTA — A townhouse in southwest Atlanta has been destroyed, but no one is hurt, after Atlanta fire crews put out a blaze Sunday night.
Fire officials say they were called to 11 Peyton Place just fore 9 p.m. on Sunday where they found a fully engulfed townhome.

Firefighters say the fire started on the second floor of one of the townhomes and didn’t spread to the other units.
An elderly woman from one of the neighboring townhomes had to be helped out of the home after not answering the door for neighbors.
She decided not to go to the hospital, but no injuries were reported.

Witnesses recalled the moment they realized their home was on fire while they were standing outside.
“We heard a little pop and saw smoke coming from the window,” Gregory Perkins said, “that’s when we saw the flames were getting bigger, so we let our folks know the house was on fire.”

The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
