Atlanta rapper, actor Ludacris honored with star on Hollywood Walk of Fame

HOLLYWOOD, Ca — Hollywood honored Atlanta rapper and actor Ludacris on the Hollywood Walk of Fame Thursday.

The ceremony happened on Hollywood Boulevard in Los Angeles.

Ludacris, whose real name is Chris Bridges, grew up in metro Atlanta.

Ludacris was joined at the ceremony by his Fast and Furious co-star Vin Diesel and fellow musician LL Cool J.

He told Channel 2′s Karyn Greer recently that the timing of this honor means a lot to him.

“To be honored in the same year as my brother Paul Walker has definitely had me a little sentimental around here right now because our birthdays are one day apart,” Ludacris said.

It’s been 10 years since Walker, Ludacris’ Fast and Furious co-star, passed away.

Walker’s brother Cody, Fast and Furious co-stars Michelle Rodriguez, Jordana Brewster, Tyrese Gibson, actor/musician Queen Latifah, as well as Ludacris’ wife and daughter, also attended the ceremony.

The newest film in the franchise premieres on Friday.

As a recording artist, Ludacris has sold more than 24 million albums worldwide.

“Ludacris has been a pop culture staple for many years,” stated Ana Martinez, Producer of the Hollywood Walk of Fame. “As both a rapper and actor, he has created some of our favorite music and film moments and we’re thrilled to welcome him to our historic landmark,” added Martinez.
