ATLANTA — Atlanta police and firefighters will conduct an active shooter training at Zoo Atlanta Tuesday night.
The drill will take place starting at 6 p.m. while the zoo is closed to the public.

Police said there will be an abundance of Atlanta Police Department and Atlanta Fire Rescue Department vehicles, as well as training-related activity in the area.

“This training is an extremely important part of the ongoing training our officers participate in to remain prepared to respond to and address active shooter situations,” police said.

Atlanta police have conducted past active shooter trainings at the Georgia Aquarium and Lenox Square.
The training is not open to the public or to the media.
