ATLANTA — Charges filed against “Fast and Furious” actor Tyrese Gibson have been dismissed nearly a year after his neighbor’s dog was mauled and killed.
Last September, Atlanta police say Gibson’s large dogs were roaming freely in his Buckhead community.
His neighbor says he came outside to find his 5-year-old Cavalier King Charles Spaniel named Henry dead minutes after seeing Gibson’s dogs on Ring camera.

Gibson, 47, was arrested and charged with cruelty to animals, dog at large and nuisance charges.
The actor’s attorney, Gabe Banks, confirmed that the charges against Gibson were dismissed last month after he completed a pretrial diversion program.

The actor, who was out of town at the time of the attack, released a statement through his attorney in the days after the attack, taking responsibility.
He says he is “shocked, devastated and heartbroken” for the family who lost their dog.
“As an empath, my heart hurts deeply for their unimaginable loss, and I’ve been trying to reach out directly to express my sorrow and condolences,” he wrote.
He says that he has spent 40 years as a dog lover and has never trained any of his dogs to harm anyone.
Gibson has rehomed the dogs involved in the attack.
