FORSYTH COUNTY, Ga. — An 85-year-old man faces felony murder and aggravated assault charges in connection with the death of his wife.
Thomas Elliott Field was arrested at the scene Sunday by Forsyth County Sheriff’s Office deputies following a domestic violence call.

Deputies responded at approximately 7:30 p.m. to a residence on Collins Point Road after receiving a 911 call reporting a domestic violence incident.
Upon arrival, emergency personnel found 81-year-old Deborah Field suffering from multiple injuries. First responders provided emergency medical care, but she died from her injuries at the residence.
Detectives with the Forsyth County Sheriff’s Office Major Crimes Unit and the Crime Scene Unit launched a criminal investigation at the home.
Field was detained at the scene by responding deputies before being charged and transferred to the Forsyth County Jail.
Investigators stated that the incident was an isolated domestic violence occurrence, with no ongoing threat to the surrounding community.
The sheriff’s office noted that the investigation remains active and asked anyone with information about the case to contact the Major Crimes Unit.
