NORTH FULTON COUNTY, Ga. — An 11-year veteran of the Atlanta Police Department is on leave after being arrested. Alpharetta police say it all started when the off-duty officer tried to kiss women and a man. Police also say the off-duty officer made threats and forced officers us a Taser on him.
Alpharetta police say Atlanta Police Officer Scott Perry, who did a lot of undercover work for APD, was belligerent. They say he was walking up to random couples, making inappropriate comments, trying to kiss women.
"He attempted to kiss the girlfriend and possibly the male," said George Gordon, with the Alpharetta Police Department. "One of the men shoved the officer to the ground, and a fight broke out."
After the fight inside the Alpharetta hotel, police officers confronted Perry.
"This individual was completely intoxicated," Gordon said. "He kept stating that he is an Atlanta police officer."
According to the police report, Perry yelled at the officers to "tase me," which the officers did.
Atlanta police says Perry has been relieved of duty and is at home with pay. They went on to say Chief George Turner has always prioritized officer accountability, and he will continue to take decisive action when necessary to hold his employees to the highest standard.
Atlanta police won't release Perry's picture, because he does undercover work.
