EAST POINT, Ga. — Investigators say a man arrested in connection to several rapes and kidnappings in the East Point area also stole money for the Waffle House he worked at.
East Point police have been holding suspected rapist Terry Young on an outstanding warrant.
The warrant alleges Young stole from his former employer Waffle House.
Employees claim there's surveillance video of Young clearing out the cash register and pocketing almost $650 while on the job in July.
By the time a manager arrived Young was gone.
He's managed to hide from police for more than two months, until his arrest Friday.
Officers tell Channel 2 Action News they believe in the past couple weeks Young kidnapped three women in the Highwood Park neighborhood and raped two of them.
"They forced them to go to ATM retrieve money. Once the money was retrieved, they forced them back to residence, where he commits a sexual assault on them," said Capt. Cliff Chandler, of the East Point Police Department.
Investigators searched for the 20-year-old for a week with the help of the Georgia Bureau of Investigation.
They located him Friday hiding in a water heater closet in an apartment at the Parkside at Camp Creek apartments.
Channel 2 Action News was the only station there as police arrested Young.
He's currently facing a theft charge linked to the Waffle House incident, but police say they will be tacking on more charges for the latest allegations that include kidnapping, rape and sexual assault, among others.
