TROUP COUNTY, Ga. — A 6-year-old boy was struck and killed by a car in LaGrange on Saturday, police said.
LaGrange Police said it happened in the 1000 block of Kelley Street. They say Tristan Nixon was struck by a van driven by Gene Patrick Bailey, 23, of Pine Mountain.
Police said the boy was critically injured after riding an electric scooter in the roadway and crashing into the van. He was flown to Children’s Hospital in Atlanta, where he died, according to police.
Police said a preliminary investigation yielded that the boy was at fault in the wreck.
