BARTOW COUNTY, Ga. — Deputies are investigating the death of a girl who they say shot herself playing with a pistol at a Bartow County campsite.
The girl’s grandmother and a man have been charged.
The Bartow County Sheriff’s Department said they responded around 8:30 p.m. Saturday to reports of a shooting at the Chitwood Cove campsite.
People at the scene took the child from the site and met up with law enforcement and EMS up the road.
Officials rushed the girl to a local hospital, where she was pronounced dead. The child’s name and age have not been released.
