RICHMOND COUNTY, Ga. — The Richmond County Coroner’s Office is investigating circumstances surrounding two deaths at the same residence on Monday.

Richmon County Coroner Mark Bowen told Channel 2 Action News two bodies were found in a residence on the 2000 block of Maryland Avenue.
Deputies found the bodies when the landlord requested a welfare check when the residents failed to pay rent that month.
It is unclear if the bodies that were found were of the people who lived there.

When officers arrived, Bowen said they found two bodies. He told Channel 2 Action News the circumstances surrounding the investigation are suspicious.
The victims could not be identified, and the Georgia Bureau of Investigation will conduct an autopsy.
