19-year-old dies after being knocked out in fight at Georgia Applebee’s

DAWSON COUNTY, Ga. — A 19-year-old has died days after he was involved in a violent fight at a north Georgia Applebee’s restaurant.

The Dawson County Sheriff’s Office reported that deputies were called to the Applebee’s off Ga. 400 in Dawsonville Sunday night in reports to a fight.

Kaleb Duckworth, 19, of Dahlonega was taken to a hospital for “severe head trauma.” After fighting in the intensive care unit for several days, Duckworth died on Tuesday.

“Kaleb Thomas Duckworth went home to be with Jesus on 7/27/2021,” the family wrote.

A GoFundMe has been set up to help pay for medical expenses and other fees.

His mother wrote in a public Facebook post that Duckworth was an organ donor and that he will be saving five people’s lives.
